Gully Baseball
Gully Baseball is a competitive arcade baseball game where you and your rival get into a wild street showdown. The goal is as antisocial as it gets: smash as many windows as you can in the building across the road. You would never do this in real life, but here it is just a game where you can shatter glass without consequences. Both of you stand ready with bats while the pitchers are a few yards in front of you. Each round lasts exactly one minute, and during that time, you need to earn more points than your opponent. You get points for every window you break. It sounds simple, just hit the ball, but sometimes the pitchers throw curveballs that fly in unpredictable ways. Those are much harder to hit than a straight pitch, although it is nice to know your opponent misses them often, too.
How to play?
The pitcher sends the ball your way, and you need to watch its path. It does not fly straight; it spins in the air and changes direction. You have to guess where it will be at the moment you swing. Press the hit button when the ball is within your bat's reach. If you timed it and read the trajectory correctly, the ball will fly toward the building and smash into a window with the sharp sound of breaking glass, and you earn points for the damage. If you miss, the ball just flies past with no points, but you get another chance on the next pitch. Your opponent plays at the same time under the same rules, also trying to break windows. Keep an eye on the timer and both players' scores on the screen. One minute goes by fast, and every clean hit matters. When time is up, the game compares both scores. If you have more points than your rival, you move on to the next round, where everything starts again with new intensity.
