Pinch Hitter: Game Day

Pinch Hitter: Game Day is a baseball game about the one big day that decides if you make the starting lineup. You have been training hard on the bench, and now you are finally ready to step onto the field and prove what you can do. First, pick which team you want to play for and choose your uniform color. If you do not feel like deciding, you can let the game pick for you at random.

You cannot jump into a full game right away, since it is locked at first. To qualify, you have to complete three baseball mini games: catching, batting, and pitching. The total number of points you earn across all three tests unlocks the full game. After that, you can choose between a simple practice mode or a challenge mode with specific tasks and goals. The game sometimes gives you helpful hints, so it should not be too hard to get through the first stages. Play clean and follow the rules, and your results will start to improve.

How to play?

Once the players are in position and the pitcher is ready to throw, your job is to hit the incoming ball as far as possible. In front of your batter, there is a square that shows a mirrored image of your bat position to help you aim more easily. Your mouse controls two directions at the same time. Moving it left and right shifts the player along home plate. Moving it up and down changes the angle of the bat and the height at which it will meet the ball.

When the pitcher releases the ball, choose the right moment to swing and click the mouse button to send the bat toward the pitch. If you set your position correctly and time your swing well, the ball will fly deep into the field and earn you points. Play through all three mini games to collect enough points to unlock the main mode. Then pick between free play or challenge objectives, like hitting a set number of home runs or reaching a minimum distance with your hits.
