ESPN Arcade Baseball

ESPN Arcade Baseball is a fast-paced sports arcade baseball game with two modes to choose from. Precision Hitting gives you a ten-pitch accuracy challenge where your goal is to hit the ball as close to the center of the target as possible to rack up points. Bottom of the Ninth puts you in a dramatic late-game situation where your team is down by two runs, and you only have three outs left to mount a comeback. Before you step up to the plate, pick a difficulty setting from three options: easy, medium, or hard. You can also customize your player by choosing your team uniform color, your batter's skin tone, and the brand logo that appears on your bat.

How to play?

When the pitcher gets ready to throw, a marker appears on the screen that shows the approximate path of the ball. Move your mouse to slide the aiming circle over toward this marker. The closer you line up the circle with the marker, the more accurate your swing will be. As the pitch comes in, click the left mouse button to swing the bat. Timing is critical; you need to click right as the ball reaches the control point. Swinging too early or too late leads to a miss or a weak hit.

In Precision Hitting mode, aim your swings so the ball lands as close as possible to the center of the target on the field. That is how you earn the most points for each pitch. Keep in mind the bonus for the first bounce; if the ball hits the ground for the first time in the target area, you get double points, which makes those hits especially valuable. In Bottom of the Ninth mode, your task changes. Hit the ball to advance runners and bring them home to score runs and cut into the lead. You only get three outs, so every at-bat counts. Come back from two runs down and pull ahead to win this tense finish.
