Professor’s Rubik's Cube 5x5
Professor’s Rubik’s Cube 5x5 is a more complex version of the classic cube, part of the Rubik’s Cube family of puzzles. Rubik’s added it to its lineup in 1986 under the name “Professor’s Cube.” The center piece on each face is fixed to the cube’s mechanism. In addition to these, there are 48 center pieces that move freely within the puzzle, 8 corner pieces, and 36 edge pieces. The most common approach to solving it is called the "simplification" method—it focuses on solving the 3x3 center pieces and 3x1 edge pieces, reducing the problem to a 3x3x3 puzzle that can be solved using standard algorithms. The 5x5x5 cube is an official WCA puzzle; the current world record for solving it is 32.88 seconds.
How to play?
To start, scramble the cube using the button at the top of the game screen. Then rotate the cube’s faces, solving the center pieces and edge pieces. Use the simplification method: first assemble the 3x3 centers and 3x1 edges, reducing the puzzle to a standard 3x3x3 cube. Apply standard Rubik’s Cube algorithms to complete the assembly. Take into account the unique even-numbered case characteristic of this puzzle.
