The Last Elevator

"The Last Elevator" is an interactive short story about a difficult choice, where a single elevator car becomes the only chance for survival. At 2:13 a.m., the power goes out in the "Atlas-Bio" tower, the stairwell doors lock, and all communication with the outside world is cut off. Only your elevator is working, and now it’s up to your decisions to determine who will be able to escape the building. Five people come on the line: a doctor, an engineer, a director, a courier, and a lab technician. Each tells their own version of what happened, but not everyone is willing to tell the truth. You have a limited number of trips, so you’ll have to ask questions, use your wits to uncover the truth, and decide who really needs help. As the investigation progresses, new details about the accident, hidden motives, and important evidence come to light—all of which could change your final decision.

How to play?

Read the dialogues, ask the characters questions, and examine the information you gather. After each conversation, decide what to do next. You can send the elevator for a person, postpone the rescue, or refuse to save them. This will be a tremendous responsibility. Use the log to review past conversations, and the “Evidence” section will be necessary for examining the evidence you’ve found and details about what happened. Each mission allows you to save only one person, so choose carefully and pay attention to the smallest details in the characters’ stories. Your decisions influence the course of events and lead to one of eight endings. In the finale, you’ll have to determine the fate of the archive and choose a final route that reveals the consequences of all the choices you’ve made.
