Cheremsha Changes Careers
"Cheremsha Changes Careers" is a visual novel that combines absurd humor, liminal horror, quirky characters, and branching narratives. You’ll play as Cheremsha—an unflappable meme who can become the building’s chairman and figure out what’s going on on the lower floors. You’ll find yourself in an old Soviet apartment building where everything seems calm. But there are things that might bother you: the pipes are noisy, the elevator talks, the radiators are hiding something, and the residents act as if this is all perfectly normal. Here, a routine pipe inspection could lead you to the basement, the electrical room, the housing office archives, and other strange places where the building seems to be watching your every move.
How to Play?
Read the dialogues, follow the events, and choose responses for Cheremshu. As the story unfolds, you’ll meet Brdytsh—a mysterious entity from the basement who speaks in short, cryptic phrases—and Sömga from Apartment 34, a calm resident who knows far too much about the building. Talking to them will help you discover why the pipes act as if they’re alive, what the old heating units are hiding, and what entities are watching over the residents.
Explore the corridors with peeling walls, the basement, the electrical room, the housing office archives, and other liminal spaces. Sometimes you’ll need to check the wiring, find a strange object, solve a puzzle, or choose how to respond in a conversation. In this novella, your decisions shape the building’s fate, so pay attention to the characters’ lines, flickering lights, the sound of the radiators, and subtle clues. Play through the story to the end and find out if Cheremsh can change careers, understand the living building, and maintain peace and quiet without the hustle and bustle.
