Tinder for a Ghost

"Tinder for a Ghost" is a visual novel about how love knows no bounds—not even those of the afterlife. You’ll play as Lena, a young woman, choosing dialogue options, completing mini-games, and helping the ghost Dima find true love. Lena works at a dating agency and is skilled at arranging romantic relationships for others, but she remains on the sidelines herself—until an old amulet opens up the world of ghosts to her. One of them has been stuck in her apartment since 1998. Dima died in the shower and now can’t move on until he falls in love. So the young woman takes on the strangest project of her career and decides to find the ghost a match through a dating app.

The story is driven by warm humor, unusual dates, and characters you quickly grow attached to. Dima cracks jokes even while wrapped in a single towel; Zinaida Petrovna, the ghostly grandmother, pops right out of the wall to dish out unsolicited advice; and Lena’s friend Sonya helps her keep from going crazy over everything that’s happening. Behind the funny premise, a more personal story gradually unfolds. The girl helps the ghostly young man, but in the process, she begins to better understand herself, her feelings, and what she herself is missing.

How to Play?

Read through the scenes and choose your lines at key moments. Your decisions determine which of the three endings you’ll reach. The ending can be happy, neutral, or sad, so Lena’s responses, her attitude toward Dima, and her actions in crucial scenes all influence the outcome of the entire story. Between story segments, you’ll find 9 different mini-games. You’ll need to swipe profiles left or right, choose the best messages, hit the green zone, and search for items and differences. This free visual novel about love and ghosts takes about 20–30 minutes to play through, but in that time, it manages to tell a funny, strange, and touching story about feelings that can arise even where no one expected them.
