A Knock on the Door

A Knock on the Door is a psychological horror game where every choice counts. You run a small guest house in a world swallowed by endless night, and what you do decides who lives and who dies. Your actions and decisions help you tell the living from the dead and stop innocent people from being killed. You have a limited amount of energy to check the guests who show up. You can sleep to restore some of it, but you still have to think carefully before you spend it. People knocking on your door might be regular travelers or deadly Whisperers, creatures that bring death if you let them inside. Every new guest arrives with their own dangers and secrets.

How to play?

Look closely at each visitor, checking details like their hands, hair, and lips. You need to spot even the smallest anomaly that might expose what they really are. You have access to a profile database you can use to compare and inspect people, but it is not perfect, so sometimes you will have to trust your gut. Be careful though, because every inspection drains your energy. You will have to decide whether to examine the next guest or let them pass without a check.
