Visual Novel: Off the Clock
Visual Novel: Off the Clock is a free visual novel you can play on your PC, Android phone, or other devices. The story starts late at night in New York City on Christmas Eve. Casey has just finished her shift at a burger joint. It was a long day, her legs hurt, her thoughts are all over the place, and she just wants to step outside and breathe in the cold air. The city is noisy, glowing with store windows and garlands, but for her it is just another regular evening after work.
In an alley, Casey notices Loy. He is clearly not from around here, dressed to the nines and with very polite manners. At the same time, it is obvious he is a freezing, confused runaway "golden boy" who suddenly finds himself alone in the middle of a big city. Their meeting seems random, but the conversation quickly goes deeper. They talk about themselves and share things they usually keep to themselves. Little by little, this night stops feeling like just a cold winter evening.
How to play?
Read the dialogue and follow the story, switching between the characters' lines. The text appears gradually, so it is important to pay attention to details and to the words they use. Make choices in the dialogue that affect how Casey responds to Loy. Your decisions change the mood of their conversation and how close the characters become.
Move through the scenes as the story takes you from the street to new moments of their meeting. The story opens up step by step through conversations, pauses, and short descriptions of what is happening. Watch a simple talk slowly turn into a quiet, warm novella about a chance encounter, loneliness, and hope in a big city in this story-driven visual novel game.
