Experiment 42: Escape

In Experiment 42: Escape, Max wakes up in a white room on a secret base. A sharp-tongued hacker named Sonya shows up, a woman who can get out of almost any absurd situation. The seemingly normal room quickly turns out to be part of a huge complex with white walls, electronic doors, and strange devices. One door hides a laboratory, another leads to humming machinery, and farther on are ventilation shafts and laser-lined corridors. Max usually wants to break his way through, while Sonya stays calm, looks at the situation, and constantly comes up with better ideas. The story moves forward through dialogue, absurd events, and the results of your choices, so the escape slowly turns into a long chain of unexpected scenes.

How to play?

Read the on-screen dialogue and wait for each line to fully appear. During conversations, you find out what is nearby, where you can go, and what the characters plan to do next. When options appear, click the action you think is right. You can go with brute force, pick a clever move, or use a random item if it fits the moment. Move through wards, chemistry labs, laser corridors, and ventilation shafts by picking solutions for new scenes. Sometimes you clear a path, sometimes you skirt around a dangerous area, and sometimes you deal with machinery or a villain. If a choice turns out badly, the story rewinds and lets you try a different option. Choose again, try new answers, and lead Max and Sonya through the base until they finally escape.
