Harry the Hamster

Harry the Hamster is a puzzle game about a little hamster who is terribly unlucky. The poor guy has ended up in the paws of a hungry black cat that now keeps him locked in a cage. Harry was peacefully walking through his usual tunnels when a huge black paw came out of nowhere and grabbed him. Now he is trapped, shaking with fear, and only you can help him. In front of you is a cage hanging in the middle of a void, surrounded by broken pieces of pipes and tunnels. On the other side of the gap, you can see a picture of a house, Harry's home, where he really wants to get back to. Your goal is to collect the scattered pipe pieces and build a continuous path from the cage to the safety of home in Harry the Hamster, a classic hamster puzzle game.

How to play?

Look at the screen. Harry is in a cage on the left, his house is on the right, and between them is a pile of pipe pieces. Grab any piece with the mouse and drag it where you want it, connecting everything into a single path. The pipes can be straight or curved and can have turns, so combine them to make one solid route from point A to point B. The pieces have to match up correctly, or Harry will get stuck or drop into an opening. Keep an eye on the timer; the seconds go by fast. When the countdown ends, the cage door opens on its own, and the hamster will roll down the path you built. If there is a gap anywhere, he will shoot out through it and fall. Cat bowls are scattered across the field, so avoid them when you build. If Harry falls into a bowl, it is game over, and the cat eats him. Plan your route so you steer clear of every dangerous spot.

If you want more of a challenge, press the early release button before the timer is done. Harry will jump out before you finish, and you will have to keep building the path while he is already on the move. Try to use as many pieces as you can in your build; that also gives you extra points. You do not have to make the shortest route; you can create a long, winding road from lots of parts. On the third and fourth levels, special pieces appear that let the hamster fly over obstacles. Make sure you catch him back in the pipe on the other side, or he will fall. If you fail a run, you can replay the level, but all your points are reset. Save Harry, build smart tunnels, and get the poor guy home in one piece.
