Frog Mania

Frog Mania is a puzzle game about an overcrowded swamp where frogs have taken over almost every lily pad. They sit and wait for dragonflies, their favorite treat, to fly by. The catch is that they can't move; any jump would scare the dragonflies away, and they'd have to wait again. The frogs have come up with a system for catching food while staying perfectly still. They use their tongues not only to grab insects but also to shove each other and set off a chain reaction.

One frog hits its neighbor with its tongue, the neighbor turns from the hit and automatically fires its own tongue, and the cascade continues. A direct hit to the face makes that frog turn away, while a push from the side turns it toward the attack. Look over how the frogs and dragonflies are arranged on the pond before you make your first move. Any frogs already facing their prey are ready to grab it with one click.

How to play?

Just click a frog that is already looking at a dragonfly. Its tongue shoots forward and catches the insect. It is more difficult with frogs sitting sideways or with their backs to the dragonflies. You need to turn them the right way using hits from their neighbors. Find a frog that can hit the one you need from the side. Click it, and it will shoot its tongue and push its neighbor.

The neighbor will turn from the push and might hit another frog farther down the chain. Watch out for frontal hits. If a tongue hits a frog straight in the face, it will instinctively turn away in the opposite direction. This can break your whole combo or, if you plan it right, help you. Think through the sequence of pushes a few steps ahead so everyone ends up facing their dragonflies.

The timer starts at sixty seconds and counts down. Don't sit there too long, quickly figure out the right sequence of clicks and launch a chain reaction. If you catch all the dragonflies before time runs out, the level is complete and you move on to the next part of the swamp in Frog Mania, one of the more unusual frog puzzle games.
