Hungry Frog
Hungry Frog is a fast-paced arcade puzzle game about a fearless frog with a huge appetite. Frogs love flies, and for our heroine, they are the number one delicacy. She sees a fly and instantly starts drooling. But you can't just grab them that easily. Flies are scattered around the level, hide behind obstacles, and some keep flying in circles instead of staying in one place. You have to rely on your wits and precision shots. The frog has a secret weapon, a sticky tongue. She shoots it like a harpoon, the fly sticks to it, and it gets pulled straight into her mouth. Yum, delicious! But it is not just about shooting straight. The tongue can ricochet off walls, bounce at an angle, and travel even farther. The frog stands on a platform somewhere in the level, and your goal in Hungry Frog is to aim her tongue and snag every fly you see.
How to play?
Aim with the mouse and a line appears from the frog to the cursor. You see exactly where the tongue will go if you shoot right now. Move the mouse and the line follows it. Find a good angle, click, and the tongue flies out. If you hit a fly, it sticks to the tongue and gets pulled into the frog's mouth. One down, time to look for the next one. If you miss, the tongue shoots out, hits nothing, and comes back, so you line up the next shot. The key mechanic is that the tongue bounces off the walls. If you see a fly around a corner but can't reach it directly, shoot at a wall at an angle so the tongue ricochets and flies on toward the target. You can pull off double and even triple ricochets. The tongue hits one wall, then another, then a third, and only then reaches a fly tucked away in a hidden spot. It looks great when you pull off a complex trick shot.
Some levels have boxes of dynamite. Hit a box with your tongue to set it off. The blast can destroy nearby blocks and open a path to flies hiding behind them, or it can knock away something heavy that was blocking your shot. Blocks themselves can move if you pull them with your tongue. Latch onto a block and it will slide. Sometimes you need to move an obstacle like that to open a clear line for a direct shot at a fly. Some flies never sit still and move along a set path. You have to shoot not where the fly is right now, but where it will be in a moment. Think ahead, like a sniper leading a moving target. Beat all thirty-one levels, sharpen your aim, learn to read tricky ricochet trajectories, and keep this insatiable frog fed for as long as you want.
