Sonic the Hedgehog

Dash through robotic traps, hunt for Chaos Emeralds, and shut down Dr. Robotnik's plans in Sonic the Hedgehog. This classic platform game first showed up on the Sega Genesis and still sticks out as the start of Sonic's story. You guide the blue hedgehog as he races into Robotnik's territory, breaks his machines, and frees captured friends. Robotnik wants the Chaos Emeralds for himself, so Sonic has to reach them first and stop the doctor from spreading his rule across different worlds.

The adventure runs through six separate zones, each split into three short acts with their own layouts and hazards. Enemy robots patrol platforms and paths. Some block the way, others guard secrets or stand between you and the stage exit. Sonic attacks by using speed, jumping into robots, and turning into a spinning blue ball. He smashes devices, earns bonus points for every destroyed machine, and sometimes opens new routes toward the Emeralds. Gold rings lie along the way as protection. Stack them up, grab a hundred, and the game gives Sonic one extra life. Hit spikes or take a hit and a chunk of those rings bursts away at once, leaving Sonic exposed if he has none left.

How to play?

Move Sonic through each zone, then hit ramps and slopes to build momentum for loop-the-loops. Press jump at the right moment to attack enemies from above or from a roll. Curl into a ball on the move to crush robots and crack weak walls that hide secret rooms with rewards. Time jumps cleanly over spikes and other hazards, since a bad landing strips Sonic of rings or drops him into danger. Watch the act layout, pick safe spots to roll or run full speed, and push toward Robotnik's boss encounters at the end of the routes.
