Sonic and Knuckles

Pick a side in the classic clash between Sonic and Knuckles and rush through twisting stages packed with ramps, climbs, and closed loops. The cartridge version of Sonic and Knuckles continues the earlier saga about the blue hedgehog and adds a full playable run for the echidna as well. Levels work like a winding maze, where steep slopes throw you forward and circular turns keep speed high if you enter them correctly.

Knuckles plays very differently from Sonic. The red echidna glides through the air and smashes obstacles with a hard punch, while Sonic focuses on raw speed and rolling attacks. Both characters land on Angel Island, then push through robots, spikes, and other hazards while hunting for rings and special bonus areas that boost resources and extra lives.

How to play?

Choose Sonic or Knuckles on the start screen, then move toward Angel Island to begin the first zone. Hold down on the directional controls to curl into a ball, then press the jump button to spin in place and build instant speed. Use that charged spin to break through sections of the stage without taking hits that would cost rings or health.

Pick up gold rings scattered across the path to stay alive. A counter tracks collected rings, and reaching 100 adds an extra life to your stock. Keep at least one ring in hand, since a collision with spikes, robots, or other enemies with zero rings removes the current character immediately. Enter bonus levels when you find them to grab extra rings in concentrated groups and refill your supply faster.
