Sonic Advance

Pick a hero, dash into side-scrolling stages, and beat the clock before Dr. Eggman tightens his grip on South Island. In Sonic Advance, you run through 2D zones packed with ramps, enemies, and tricky layouts, aiming to finish runs fast while stacking up golden rings. Choose between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy at the start and stick with that character for the stage run.

This handheld platform game pushes past older Sonic entries with smoother character animation, more detailed backgrounds, and more zones to clear. Levels link together into larger areas, so each run feels part of a longer path. Attack enemies and break objects directly instead of only jumping, then smash the machines that trap animals to free them from Eggman's robots.

How to play?

Run forward, jump across gaps, and sprint down slopes by holding the direction keys. Hit enemies with jumps or character attacks to knock them out and keep moving. Grab rings scattered around the path to protect yourself from damage, then keep collecting to refill after a hit. Reach the signpost or exit at the end of a stage as quickly as possible to clock in a better time.

Switch to different characters on a fresh start to test other move sets, then learn which one fits certain routes better. Watch for robotic critters standing on edges or moving along paths, then time your jumps so you land on them safely. Hit item boxes and breakable objects when you spot them, since they often stand between you and the next section of the level.
