Push the Frog
Push the Frog is a puzzle game about a frog that has come to a desert island to hunt mosquitoes. There is no one else around, so the prey is all yours. You help the frog by pushing it in the right direction and planning how best to stretch its tongue to catch its prey. The trick is that mosquitoes are skittish. If you get too close, they will fly away immediately. You can only catch them from the neighboring cell. Sometimes you can't reach your prey with your normal tongue, so you have to stretch it two or three cells.
How to play?
On the screen, the frog is at one end of the field, and the mosquito is somewhere further away. Your task is to push the frog so that its tongue reaches the mosquito and eats it. Click on the frog and choose the direction of movement. It will move one cell in that direction. Remember the distance: you can't get too close, or the mosquito will wash away. You can only catch it when you are in the adjacent cell. If there is no direct path, move around it. You can jump over water areas, as long as the landing spot is free. To stretch your tongue and increase your attack range, stick it to a stone and then move in the opposite direction. The tongue will stretch one cell, allowing you to reach more distant mosquitoes. This way, you can stretch your tongue several times in a row for particularly tricky levels. There are more than sixty levels in the game, and it gets noticeably harder as you progress. Can't figure it out? Click on the hint light, and the game will show you the correct sequence of moves.
