Push the Frog
Push the Frog is a puzzle game about a frog that ends up on a desert island to hunt mosquitoes. There is nobody else around, so all the prey is yours. You help the frog by pushing it in the right direction and planning how to stretch its tongue to catch each mosquito. The trick is that mosquitoes are skittish. If you get too close, they fly away right away. You can only grab them from a neighboring cell. Sometimes you can't reach a mosquito with the normal tongue length, so you need to stretch it two or three cells. On the screen, the frog starts at one end of the grid, and the mosquito is somewhere farther away. Your goal is to push the frog so its tongue can reach the mosquito and eat it.
How to play?
Click on the frog and choose a direction. It will move one cell that way. Watch the distance, because you can't move too close or the mosquito will fly off. You can only catch it when you're in an adjacent cell. If there is no direct path, move around obstacles. You can jump across water cells as long as the landing cell is free. To stretch your tongue and increase your attack range, stick it to a stone, then move in the opposite direction. The tongue stretches by one cell, which lets you reach more distant mosquitoes. You can stretch your tongue several times in a row on especially tricky levels. The game has more than sixty levels, and the puzzles get harder as you go. Stuck on a level? Click the hint light and the game will show you the correct sequence of moves.
