Frogs vs. Storks

Frogs vs. Storks is a puzzle game about eternal enemies forced to share the same pond. Storks are the biggest threat to the frogs, because they love to eat them. The characters hop across the water lilies hunting for food, each chasing their own target: the frog grabs flies, and the stork hunts the frog. The key twist in the gameplay is that you and the stork move at the same time, but in opposite directions. When you step to the right, the stork also moves, but in the mirrored direction. This turns every move into a kind of chess puzzle. The game is split into five sections with a total of forty levels that get harder as you go. Your main goal is to reach the yellow lily pad safe and sound, picking up all the flies on the pond along the way. You get points for every insect and flower you eat, but if the stork reaches them first, those points are taken away from your score. Stork eggs scattered around the lily pads give you bonus points.

How to play?

Hop between lily pads to collect flies, butterflies, and flowers to rack up points. Keep in mind that the stork mirrors your actions. If you step to the left, it will step to the right. Use this to control where it ends up and keep it away from you. Watch out for torn lily pads. If you land on one, you get teleported back to the starting pad. The same thing happens to the stork if it jumps onto a torn leaf. You can bait the predator onto these bad pads to send it back and buy yourself time. Never stand on the same lily pad as the stork. If you do, the beak snaps shut, you die instantly, and you fail the level. Always keep at least one lily pad between you. Grab eggs whenever you see them; they give you a good chunk of points. In the later levels, the controls get trickier when a second frog appears. You have to switch between them and guide each one to its own yellow lily pad while dodging the storks and coordinating your moves so that both frogs survive to the end.
