Domino Sniff
A five-scoring table sets the pace. In the Domino Sniff ruleset, play follows the Fives family, pushing both players to build a layout whose exposed pip total lands on 5, 10, or another multiple of five for instant points. The opening lead comes from a random draw. A player who ruled the last round takes the next lead, but a blocked hand sends that privilege back to chance. Any tile may begin the layout, and the first tile becomes the sniffer, a spinner that accepts matches on all four sides. Pip values shift around that hub. A sniff scores by its full total when no more than two sides are covered. Three covered sides leave only the exposed end worth points. Double sniffs without inhalation score the pips showing at the end of the hand in the layout; otherwise, both sides play as zero.
How to play?
Place a tile on any legal end, then total all exposed ends after the play and claim that number at once whenever it lands on a multiple of five. Drawing from the boneyard happens only when no legal match sits in hand, and an immediately playable draw goes straight onto the layout. Empty boneyard, dead hand, pass the move. Running out of tiles ends the round immediately. Neither side is able to place a match blocks the hand and closes the round that way.
