Barbut Dice

Bulgarian table play sets the pace in Barbut Dice. A match runs with one player against the computer or with two people sharing the same rules. Three six-sided dice decide every round. The race ends at 5550 points. Scoring comes from single 1s and 5s, plus certain three-die combinations. A 1 adds 100 points. A 5 adds 50.

How to play?

Roll all three dice, then set aside at least one scoring die after each throw. Bank the points from the current round or roll the remaining dice for more. Use all three dice for scoring, then roll a full set of three again and add more to that same round total. Leave a throw with no scoring die, and the whole round total is lost. Earlier points stay on the board. Set aside the dice score only on the throw when they are chosen. A later roll does not combine with dice already scored. Two 1s saved first give 200 points. Roll the last die into a 1, and that throw adds 100 more for 300 total. Reach 5550 before the other side to win.
