Standard Checkers
Standard Checkers is an exciting two-player logic puzzle game in which you will have to battle with artificial intelligence, demonstrating your strategic thinking skills. The game is played on a traditional 8x8 squares playing field, where each player starts with 12 checkers - one side plays black, the other green. Checkers can move only diagonally one field forward, and in case of getting the status of a queen - can move backward as well.
How to play?
Selecting and moving a checker: Click on your checker to select it. Possible moves will be highlighted on the board. Click on one of these squares to move. If you want to select another checker, simply click again on the one you have already selected. Rules of combat: If an opponent's checker is in the way and can be beaten, you must do so. Your move should be to jump over the opponent's checker, ending up on a free square behind it. If several hits in a row are possible, they must be done in one move. Dummy: When a simple checker reaches the last line of the opposite edge of the board, it becomes a dummy, being able to move not only forward but also backward.
Strategy and tips:
Plan moves in advance: Take your time. Try to calculate each move several steps ahead, analyzing your opponent's possible moves. Control the center of the board: This will give you more options for maneuvers and protect your pieces from attacks. Avoid corners: If your piece is in a corner, it will have less room to move and will be easier to catch.
Difficulty Modes:
The game offers three difficulty levels, each requiring different strategies to win: Easy mode: Here, the computer makes simpler moves, giving beginners a chance to learn the mechanics of the game. Medium mode: The computer will play more actively and carefully calculate its moves. High mode: Here the AI becomes a real challenge even for experienced players, forcing you to use the most elaborate strategies. Start with an easy level and gradually move to more difficult ones to improve your skills and become a checkers master. Good luck!
