Nine men's morris

An old strategy duel unfolds on a square board marked with 24 intersections. Nine men's morris uses black and white men, nine per side, in a match for two players. Ancient rules treat every token as a man, and a straight row of three forms a mill. Building that row strips one enemy man from the board. Breaking your own mill and lining it up again opens the same removal chance on a later move. Victory comes when the rival side drops to two men or runs out of legal movement.

How to play?

Place men onto empty points in alternating order, using the earliest placements to shape later lines and block rival plans. Sliding begins after all pieces enter play, with each man moving along the connected lines toward another intersection. Three remaining men change the movement rule, since that side may fly to any vacant point on the board. Planning ahead during placement and relocation sets up repeat mill patterns that remove opposing counters again.
