Ecco the Dolphin

High above the ocean, one leap leaves Ecco alone. A contest with another dolphin ends the instant a huge sea tornado rips through the water and pulls away the nearby sea life. Wind currents hold him above the surface long enough to escape the same fate. Back below, his pod is gone. Ecco the Dolphin follows the trail through a side-scrolling underwater world, searching for his missing friends and passing crystal pickups along the way.

How to play?

Swim through 2D ocean areas and watch the air meter in the upper left, since breathing runs out if Ecco stays submerged too long. Crystals wait along the route, and strong currents can carry him through the water in sudden bursts. Lives appear in the same corner of the screen. Heavy damage doesn't end the run at once because health restores on its own, leaving the path ahead open again.
