Happy Gold Miner

In the game “Happy Gold Miner,” the main character makes a living by mining gold—and does so in a rather unusual way. A wall of multicolored blocks slowly creeps toward him from the depths of the mine, and he fends it off by skillfully throwing his pickaxe. In some ways, this resembles the classic Tetris, except here you don’t need to stack the blocks—you need to break them. Not all blocks yield money; only the gold ones and those containing fossils do. The rest just get in the way and block the valuable ore. As you play, you’ll come across bonuses that increase your earnings, and the coins you collect unlock additional features. Levels are either pre-designed or randomly generated, so no two games are ever quite the same.

How to play?

Controls are mouse-only. Click on groups of two or more identical blocks that are next to each other, and the gold prospector will throw a pickaxe at them. Try to break open the gold and blocks containing fossils first, since only those earn you coins. At the bottom of the game screen, you can see which level you’re on and which wave is currently active. Each level has a set number of waves, and you must clear them all before the blocks reach the hero. If the wall reaches him, you lose the level. When there are no more suitable groups to strike, don’t wait around—trigger the next wave early.
