Hard Scorpion Solitaire

Ten minutes sit on the clock in Hard Scorpion Solitaire. Scorpion-style columns set the pace, pulling ideas from classic solitaire and Spider without using either rule set outright. Three rule sets shape the round, and the pressure comes from assembling suited runs before time runs out. A full sequence must descend from King to Ace, sliding into the main stacks to move on.

How to play?

Pick a mode before the deal, then sort the tableau by its column rules. Any face-up card may move even with unrelated cards resting above it, which changes how sequences break apart and reconnect. In one mode, suits don't limit placement, and any card fills an empty column. Another mode still ignores suit for placement, yet only a King may occupy a vacant column. Hard mode restricts placement to matching suits in descending order, and a King is the only card that can take an empty cell.
