Mushroom Merchant

Mushroom Merchant is a short pixel art game designed more for relaxation than for excitement. Soft music mixed with the sound of rain sets a calm mood, and the story itself is simple and touching: the hero helps a merchant named Mushi raise money to repair an old cart so that he can finally become a real mushroom merchant. The game world is viewed from above and rendered in a cozy pixel art style, where both harmless mushrooms and poisonous toadstools can be found among the greenery. Once Mushi’s cart is repaired, the story continues: the player encounters another merchant in need of help along the way, and Mushi hints as they part ways that the player might want to take up the mushroom trade seriously someday.

How to play?

Throw the boomerang in the desired direction; it will pick up several mushrooms at once along the way and return to your hands. Avoid the poisonous toadstools so you don’t lose points for incorrect picks. Hand over your harvest to Mushi in exchange for gold, and decide where to invest it: in an extra boomerang for a wider catch, or directly into repairing the cart for a thousand coins. Save up the necessary amount to complete the repair and continue the story with a new merchant waiting for your help.
