Keep On Mining

In “Keep on Mining,” you don’t have to mine ore yourself—the pickaxes that appear right next to your cursor do it for you. It’s an incremental game where mining takes place in short rounds. Hover your cursor over rocks, and everything within the area around it begins to break apart. Ore drops from the rocks and is immediately smelted into ingots. There are three types of rocks: ordinary, veined, and solid; the more valuable ore they contain, the more ore they yield. The ingots are used to craft new pickaxes—each one stronger and faster than the last—and to make permanent upgrades in the skill tree. Sometimes you’ll find fossils inside the stones. These are artifacts; they add to your collection and grant a passive bonus. Round after round, your mining becomes more powerful, and the stones themselves grow along with it, so you have to keep upgrading constantly.

How to Play?

When a round begins, hover your cursor over the stones. A circle will appear around it—this is your mining area. All stones inside the circle are automatically mined by the pickaxe; all you have to do is move the cursor to where there are more of them. The timer in the upper-right corner counts down 15 seconds, and when it reaches zero, the round ends. A regular stone yields 1 gold ore, a stone with veins yields 3, and a stone consisting entirely of the material yields 7 right away, so it’s more profitable to target those first. After each round, you gain experience that fills your level bar. When you level up, you receive a talent point. Spend it, and three random talent cards will appear—choose one. The selected card enhances a talent, but the stones will also become harder to mine afterward. Spend ingots in the skill tree on upgrades: more gold stones, a stronger pickaxe, increased ore value, circular shots, and much more. These upgrades remain with you permanently. You can find out what bonuses the fossils you’ve found provide in the upgrades menu under the “Artifacts” tab. As you progress, you’ll gain access to increasingly powerful pickaxes, and mining will go even faster.
