Minesweeper Modern

A minefield fills the grid. In Minesweeper Modern, the sapper reads numbered tiles, marks suspected bombs, and works through boards that range from beginner settings to custom layouts. Five preset difficulty options appear in the menu. A custom setup is available, too. A failed guess doesn't erase the whole board, since play continues after a mistake. The first revealed cell is protected from bombs. Flagging cells is optional, and the kids' mode uses easier bomb placement for younger players. How to play?

Find every bomb on the field by reading the numbers beside revealed cells, since each number shows how many bombs touch it. With a pattern like three covered cells next to a 2, mark two as bombs and uncover the remaining safe cell. Left click reveals a cell. Right-click places a flag. Double-clicking or the middle button reveals neighboring cells automatically. On phones, hold a cell to place a flag, then tap to reveal it.
