Tic Tac Toe Dice Game

The goal of the dice game "Crosses and Numbers" is to be the first of two players to cross out the four numbers below or the three numbers across in a numbered grid of crosses and noughts to win. Each player plays with 2 hex dice and has individual grids for crossing out the numbers.

How to play?

Each player in turn rolls two dice once. After each roll the player decides to cross out the number(s) according to the following rules. Cross out the number in the grid, which is equal to the sum of the two dice. For example, if you roll a 2 and a 3. You can cross out a 5. The opponent receives a penalty equal to the sum of the remaining numbers not crossed out in his/her grid. The game lasts a fixed number of rounds and after the last round, the player with the lowest number of penalty points wins the game.
