Rug Solitaire

Across fourteen rows, four card columns cover the rug, except for the blank top line reserved for the cards that set the layout in motion. The table in Rug Solitaire looks neat at first, but those four empty cells shape every move that follows. Once the aces take their places, a gap only accepts a card that matches the suit on its left and rises by rank, locking the whole puzzle to exact sequence building.

How to play?

Pick up an ace and place it in an open top cell to activate the board. During play, leave any space beside a king empty, because no card can be set there. When the layout runs out of legal moves, shuffle the loose cards to reopen the grid, but you only get three reshuffles.
