Fireside Solitaire

In Fireside Solitaire, you lay out cards to the sound of a crackling fireplace and calm music. Several columns of cards are on the screen, some face up, and some face down. There is a draw pile and one open card in the center. Your goal is to play cards onto this center card in sequence, one rank higher or lower. For example, you can place a five or a seven on a six. When you move a card from a column, the card underneath is revealed. You need to clear all the columns before the deck runs out. The atmosphere is cozy, with soft lighting, a winter evening, and a warm fire.

How to play?

Look at the open card in the center; this is your base card. Check the columns or the deck for a card that is one rank higher or lower. Click it, and it will move to the center and become the new base card. Keep building a chain of moves. If there is a seven in the center, you can place a six, then a five, then a four, or go the other way with an eight, nine, then ten. Suit does not matter, only the card value. Open cards in the columns to reach the ones hidden underneath. If there are no suitable cards to play, draw a new one from the deck. The deck cannot be reshuffled, and when it runs out, the game ends if you have no more moves. This relaxing card puzzle by the fireplace still requires planning, so think ahead about which cards to uncover first so you do not get stuck with no moves before the deck is empty.
