Contract Bridge

The four seats in Contract Bridge set up a partnership match. You play with the person across the table, facing the other pair in a card contest known for long-range planning. The International Olympic Committee recognizes bridge, and that reputation fits a pastime many players place beside chess and checkers for depth. This version gives you a full four-player table without trimming down the rules or the pressure of team play.

How to play?

At the deal, the whole deck is split evenly, leaving every hand with 13 cards. After that, players place one card at a time, building tricks until a pair reaches its declared total. Score the hand by the trump suit that was called, with clubs and diamonds paying 20 points per trick. Hearts and spades raise that value to 30 points for each trick you take. Watch the partnership score as the round moves forward, because the card you spend now can leave your side short later.
