Runic Curse

Runic Curse is a dark, story-driven Metroidvania-style action RPG set on a cursed island. A group of travelers is caught in a storm on the open sea and shipwrecked. Adrian, one of the crew, comes to on an unknown shore where the mysterious Runic Curse has already taken hold. Now he has to uncover what happened to his comrades and reveal the secrets of this doomed place.

The game features a fast, responsive combat system with stamina management and dodge rolls that give brief invincibility frames. You will explore ten large interconnected areas filled with different enemies, and each location ends with its own unique boss. There are classic RPG systems like leveling with selectable stat upgrades, equipment, and new abilities that open up routes to areas you could not reach before. A key element of Runic Curse is the ability to combine melee weapons with magical runes, so every player can shape a distinct playstyle. The game offers more than fifty different spells, a crafting system for consumable runes, and rune upgrades for your weapons. It also includes extra modes, such as an unlimited New Game Plus for replaying with your progress carried over, and a Boss Rush mode focused on back to back boss fights. You can also remap the controls for a more comfortable setup.

How to play?

Control Adrian as you move through the gloomy locations of the cursed island. Use the agile combat system, watching your stamina bar during attacks and dodges. Time your rolls to gain invincibility frames and slip through enemy strikes. Fight a wide range of foes, learning their attack patterns and weak points.

Level up through the experience system and choose which stats to improve, such as strength or stamina. Equip the armor you find to boost your defense and gain extra bonuses. Mix different melee weapons with magic runes to create your own combat style, and experiment with more than 55 spell types to find powerful combinations. Unlock abilities that let you reach areas of the map that were previously blocked off. Use crafting to create consumable runes and enhance the runes socketed into your weapons. Defeat the powerful bosses in each of the ten locations to earn valuable rewards. After you finish the main story, start New Game Plus to face tougher enemies with your existing build, or jump into Boss Rush mode to fight a series of bosses in a row. Adjust the button layout to your liking for the most comfortable gameplay experience.
