Reversi: Black and White Game

Reversi: Black and White (sometimes called Othello) is a board game in which you try to flip as many chips of your color as possible. In this game you will play as black against a computer that is white. You can also play white against black. You can place a chip anywhere near a white chip as long as there is a straight line between the black chip you place and the other black chip. In this game, the places where you can place a chip are circled in green.

How to play?

Reversi is played by two players. When playing the online version of Reversi, you play with black chips against the computer, which plays with white. The game starts with four chips placed in the center of an 8x8 game grid. Both players have four possible initial moves they can make. Since you will be playing black, the possible moves you can make at the beginning of the game are shown below. The initial moves at the beginning of the game are all horizontal or vertical. You can place a piece anywhere there is a white piece next to it on a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line if there is a black piece on the same line, with no empty spaces between them. In the example below, I demonstrate the horizontal choices you can make. You can also place chips diagonally. Below is a slightly different playing field with 3 possible placements of white chips on the diagonal axis.

When you make a move, the white chips between the black chip you just placed and another black chip turn into a black chip. You take turns moving with the computer until a chip is placed in each cell of the grid. If a player cannot make a move, the other player makes a second move. When the grid is full, the player with the most chips on the board wins the game.
