Minesweeper New Year
With Minesweeper New Year, the classic minefield puzzle gets a holiday skin while the old Windows Sapper-style frame stays in place, complete with minimize and close buttons. Five difficulty modes are available: Beginner, Enthusiast, Amateur, Semi-pro, and Professional. Each one changes the grid size, the number of mines, and the digits from 1 to 8 that appear in the cells. Lower settings use smaller numbers. A leaderboard is included, along with the full instructions from the original Windows version.
How to play?
Pick a difficulty, then reveal squares on the grid. Hitting a mine ends the round at once. Empty squares and numbered squares stay in play. Finish the board by revealing every safe square and placing flags on every mined square. Each revealed digit shows how many mines touch that cell. A 2 means exactly two mines sit in the surrounding cells. When one number already accounts for part of a shared area, the next number beside it leaves fewer mine positions remaining. Place flags with the right button. Use the smiley face at the top to load a fresh board or switch to another difficulty.
