Column Multiplication

Column Multiplication gives kids a place to work through stacked multiplication with two-digit and three-digit numbers. It fits early elementary math practice, including many 3rd-grade lessons. Younger children can use it too when they're ready to learn the written method. The playfield uses vertical problems with empty spots for missing digits. Fill the column correctly and add to your score. A right answer gives 1 point. A mistake removes 3 points. Children who already know the multiplication table and column addition will move through the tasks more easily. You can solve the problems on the screen or copy them into a notebook to write out the full method by hand.

How to play?

Place the missing digits into the proper boxes of each vertical example. Work through the partial products in the correct order. Carry numbers when needed, then finish the final sum in the column. Use notebook space for rough work if the child needs to write every step out.
