Column Addition

Add multi-digit sums in vertical form, carry extra tens into the next place, and build speed with short drills in Column Addition. The problems use 3-digit, 4-digit, and 5-digit numbers, which fits grade 2 through grade 4 practice. Three stages set the length of the numbers. Correct answers add 1 point. A mistake removes 3.

How to play?

Stack the digits by place value and work from the ones column toward the left. Write the last digit of any total under the question mark. Move the carried 1 into the next column when a sum reaches 10 or more. For 9 plus 4, place 3 in the current spot and carry 1. Use a few minutes of daily practice to get faster with longer columns.
