You can buy a couple of things and go on your journey. Gary will wander through the most dangerous parts of the kingdom in search of gold coins. They are hidden in boxes guarded by the evil inhabitants of the kingdom: ogre flowers, ferocious snails, round sprout peas, and other unpleasant creatures.
