Your main goal is to protect them from the infected hordes and get them safely to the evacuation zone. You'll land on a small lawn in the middle of the night forest, shrouded in thick, impenetrable fog. Advance to the nearest populated area with your partner, who will cover you from the crowds of walking dead wandering in droves around the area.
