Smart Sudoku

Sudoku intimidates many people at first glance: a grid, a scattering of numbers, and no clue where to start. The “Smart Sudoku” game is designed so that this fear disappears even before your first move. You’re greeted by a little owl who lives at the bottom of the screen and communicates with the player through speech bubbles. He knows Sudoku inside and out and will patiently guide you through twelve training stages, without rushing you or demanding anything. Beginners will feel at ease with it, and those who already solve classic puzzles will be intrigued to see the familiar Sudoku from an unexpected angle. It’s no coincidence that the title includes the word “smart”: here, the puzzle first teaches you how to think, and only then tests your knowledge.

How to play?

The first Sudoku grid is tiny: nine cells and nine numbers that you must place not by trial and error, but by following the rules. A green rule allows you to place a number only in the marked cells, while a red rule, conversely, prohibits it. A move that violates a rule is not accepted, so there are no lives, no penalties, and no timer here. The little owl will explain exactly what prevented you from making a move. The numbers 1 through 9 are located to the right of the grid on large colored tiles, with each number having its own color. You can place a number in a cell by tapping or dragging it with your finger. Once you’ve mastered the rules, three classic modes with a 9×9 grid will unlock: classic Sudoku, Sudoku with irregularly shaped regions, and Killer Sudoku with cells grouped into blocks with specified sums. The game features a total of 2,750 verified puzzles, with five difficulty levels for each mode. When you finish all the available puzzles, the game automatically generates new ones, and each puzzle has exactly one solution. If you get stuck, the “Hint” button will come to your rescue with three levels of assistance: first, it will show you where to look; then, it will explain why the solution is exactly as it is; and only at the end will it provide the complete answer. The game also features a daily goal, 32 achievements, and 16 theme options. Enjoy the game, and may your grid be filled with plenty of green cells.
