Super Mario 2 1998

Retro platforming gets a lighter feel in Super Mario 2 1998. A reworked engine makes movement easier to read, the soundtrack stays with the first game’s music, and the visuals look upgraded from the earlier release. Boss fights now wait at the end of every area, with jumping attacks that hurt Mario the same way regular foes do. Local co-op is included too, giving the run a shared arcade feel.

How to play?

Move through each area and stomp creatures before they touch Mario. Blocks hold extra points, so hit them whenever a path gives room for a jump. Lives run out fast after repeated contact, and losing them all sends the run back to the beginning of the area. Hidden passages sit off the main route. Reaching them adds more points to your total. Level time also stands as part of the challenge, pushing each run toward a faster finish.
