Melon Sandbox

Melon Sandbox is a physics sandbox from DUCKY LTD with no story, set objectives, or built-in limits. A title change later gave it a more recognizable name, and it is also known as Melon Playground. Fruit and vegetable figures fill the roster: a watermelon, pumpkin, corn, apple, cactus, tomato, dragon fruit, and a robot. Each reacts to damage and physics differently. Weapons cover knives, swords, spears, machetes, hammers, clubs, bats, tennis rackets, stun guns, axes, pickaxes, circular saws, staffs including fire and dark staffs, pistols, sniper rifles, water guns, crossbows, flamethrowers, grenade launchers, railguns, and lasers. Magical syringes trigger unusual effects on characters. Vehicles include jeeps, armored personnel carriers, buses, trucks, helicopters, and scooters.

Twelve maps include cities, forests, deserts, laboratories, and space locations. The built-in editor lets you make maps and mods, share them with the community, or download creations from other players. There are no levels, enemies, or a progression system. Set your own conditions, build large scenes, cause destruction, or watch characters react to objects and different stimuli. Age ratings may differ by platform because of weapons and violence, even with cartoon-style pixel art that does not aim for realism.

How to play?

Drag objects, characters, and mechanisms onto the screen. Double-click any item to bring up its context menu, then activate it or adjust size, texture, and other settings. Combine weapons, vehicles, explosives, and characters to see how they interact. Build any setup you want, then test it by blowing things up, destroying structures, staging chases, or making peaceful builds. Save creations with the Save button, then load them later from the saves tab. Switch maps through the themes menu by choosing a city, forest, desert, laboratory, or outer space environment. You can also enable mods from other players to expand the item and character selection.
