Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

A thousand years after the Abyss swallowed him, Raziel rises again as a wraith under the gaze of the Elder God. In Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Kain's punishment begins when Raziel approaches the throne and spreads newly grown wings. The act brings a sentence of eternal torment in the Lake of the Dead. Resurrection follows with a new curse. An immortal spirit body leaves Raziel struggling to adapt, and the Elder God guides his return through Nosgoth. Back in his former city, a brother waits in monstrous form. Words fail. Raziel kills Melchiah and devours his soul. Kain appears later, wins the next clash, then draws a blade meant to consume souls. The weapon shatters when it strikes Raziel, and Kain slips away. The chase continues with one question hanging over every ruin: why didn't death hold?

How to play?

Move through underground caverns and attack the creatures blocking the path. Raziel fights with his claws when nothing else is nearby. Pull weapons from the world when a stronger hit is needed. Carry a torch into combat, swing a staff, hurl a stone, grab a spear, or strike with the Soul Reaver. Damage comes from several attack options, but enemy blows cut back hard. Some foes overpower direct attacks. Use different tricks during a fight and push toward the fate tied to Raziel's lost form.
