2-Player Othello

An 8x8 grid fills with black and white discs in 2-Player Othello. Two rivals claim squares across the board, and the color balance can swing hard before the final spaces disappear. A lead halfway through the match doesn't guarantee the last count. Passed turns also change the pace, since a player with no legal capture must sit out until a valid placement appears.

How to play?

Place a disc on an empty square with at least one opposing disc trapped in a straight line between discs of your color. Every enclosed disc on that line flips to your side after the placement. A move without a capture isn't legal. Alternate placements until neither side has a valid move left. The match ends with a board count, and the higher total wins.
