Old Mario
Old Mario brings Mario back as a gray-haired plumber who now walks with a frame instead of sprinting through stages. He still heads into the Mushroom Kingdom, but this side-scrolling platform game changes how progress works. The map has three worlds, and stages don't open one after another by default. Pick up gold coins during your run, save enough cash for locked stages, and hunt for keys that open treasure chests.
The kingdom's usual troublemakers have aged, too. Goombas look like morels. Koopas now wear mustaches and bowler hats. You can still stomp these enemies from above, but bombs need a wide berth. Land on one of them, and the blast takes Mario out with it.
How to play?
Roll forward through the level, watch the ground ahead, and time your jumps over pits or enemies. Line Mario up above the aged Goombas and mustached Koopas to crush them safely. Don't drop onto bombs. Their explosion ends the attempt at once.
Grab every coin you can reach. Check the stage for keys, then use them on chests when you find them. Spend the money you collect to unlock closed stages in the three-world route. Keep moving, keep collecting, and push old Mario through the kingdom one level at a time.
