Exploring the Colors of the Rainbow

Exploring the Colors of the Rainbow teaches kids the seven rainbow colors with a well-known memory phrase. The words in that phrase follow the same order as the spectrum. Each first letter points to one color. That makes it an acrostic, a phrase built from matching initials. Instead of naming colors by themselves, the game ties them to words from the saying. Children connect the sequence to red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Then they sort flowers into that exact rainbow order.

How to play?

Drag the flowers across the play area and place them into the rainbow line. Match each flower with the color sequence from the acrostic. Finish the full row in the right order to practice the spectrum and repeat the pattern again.
