How to play?

Move the hero with swipes or arrow keys, choose the direction, and see who or what is waiting on the next tile. In Squarehead Hero, you move from cell to cell, meeting monsters and collecting loot. If the hero is holding a weapon, he damages the enemy, but the enemy hits back on the same turn. If you have no weapon, the hero only takes damage, so it is better to grab a sword or a potion beforehand. Items in your inventory help change the situation. Tap on potions or press the 1, 2, or 3 keys to heal or boost your attack. With the right items, you can open access to a new tile or take down a strong monster that is blocking the way.

Sometimes it is worth pausing, hovering the cursor over an enemy or an item, and checking its stats. This helps you understand which direction is more profitable to choose next. Rooms open one after another, so watch what your hero picks up along the route. Loot often saves you in battle and helps you clear a path to the exit. If you manage to get through a section, you immediately see where to go next and what is waiting ahead, whether it is a new enemy or a chest full of items.
