Oblivion swallowed Grimace. A round purple mascot once stood among McDonald's best-known faces, bringing laughs to kids before Ronald McDonald took the spotlight. Exile pushed the old favorite out of sight. Years of neglect twisted that oddball figure into a monster tied to nightmare stories and horror clips across the Grimace section. Grimace Shake. Scary Sounds picks up from that darker version, using his voice and presence as the whole hook.
