The story still follows Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but everything runs through a neon filter with club-style visuals and remixed tracks. Girlfriend is obsessed with music, and her protective dad, the ex-rockstar Daddy Dearest, keeps watching every duel from the sidelines. Boyfriend wants both her attention and her father's respect, so every song feels like a direct challenge to prove he can stay on beat.

Neo keeps the same rhythm duel format but flips the soundtrack and color scheme into a glowing, high-contrast style. Characters, backgrounds, and menus switch to a neon theme that fits the remixes and gives battles a louder visual punch. Songs keep their original structure, so anyone who played standard Friday Night Funkin will recognize patterns, only now they run on new mixes and effects.

How to play?

Follow the arrow prompts and tap the correct keys in sync with the music. Watch the direction icons move across the screen, then match them at the exact moment they hit their marks. Hit clean streaks to keep Boyfriend's side of the health bar strong and push opponents back. Miss too many notes and their side fills instead, which ends the track in their favor.

Play Story Mode to move through weeks in order and battle every rival one after another in the Neo version of the campaign. Switch to Free Play when there is a favorite remix and jump straight into that track without clearing earlier levels. Test new songs, practice tricky sections, then return to the story and carry that rhythm control into the next neon showdown.
