You can only mix monsters with the same border on the icon, otherwise they will not mix. Also, remember that mixing is not free and the stronger the monsters, the more expensive it will cost you to combine. Their variety, you can learn in the book. For winning battles involving bosses, you will receive bonuses that can be used during the next battle. For example, scare can only be used on warrior monsters, because on bosses they do not work or, you can heal your monsters during the battle.
